A “pop-up shop” is a store that is there one day and gone the next! We organized our first free clothing & hygiene product pop-up shop in York City in November of 2017 — it was a HUGE success! We had over 1000 city residents come out in a matter of a few hours. Our goal for 2018 is to expand the pop-up shop to 15 other towns in York County. Our vision is to reduce waste and re-direct the flow of used goods and clothing to those who are in need. All clothing, hygiene products, cleaning products, shoes, etc. are donated by the community and given away at no charge.
Our goal for 2018 is to hit at least 15 different towns in the county.
March — Glen Rock, Shrewsbury, Stewartstown
April — Mt. Wolf, Manchester, West Manchester
May — Dallastown, Red Lion, Windsor
June — York City
September — Dover
October — Hellam, Wrightsville
November — Manheim, Hanover
Here is what we need from you:
In order to hit 15+ towns in 2018 — we need help! We are looking for volunteers I can trust as “sorters”. As a sorter, you would be in charge of collecting donations in your region and sorting/organizing them. You can put in as little or as much time and effort as you’d like, there is no minimum requirement for what you must do. We just need people we can trust and count on! This is a really easy way to give back to your community on your own time. We would be happy to provide letters of recommendation or references for any high school kids that would like to help.
We also currently looking for free venues and drop-off sites in York County. If you have connections with a business/location who is interested in supplying their space as a venue OR a drop-off site, please contact the founder of the pop-up shops, Samantha Fullam, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
